The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebration – Shere and Gomshall Street Party

What an amazing day! Being American, I am never exactly sure what to expect of English celebrations and with each festivity I am always impressed. The street party that Shere and Gomshall village put together for the Jubilee was superb. The tables were laid beautifully, there was a duck race, a tug-of-war, a raffle and a brilliant band. The school children paraded around the village square in their red/white/blue outfits and sung for the crowd, which was lovely. In the evening, both villages gathered to light the beacon. I loved documenting the day for the event, and whilst I was on my feet for a good 12 hours, I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of it all.

I am producing a book from the day and will have a sample at the Shere Museum. I am donating 20% to the Jubilee’s chosen charities. Please feel free to contact me for more information.
