Wow! What a trip! We had a super time this year teaching our annual photography holiday in Tuscany, Italy. Cypress trees, sweeping Tusacan hills, vineyards at sunset, Italian festas and a couple glasses of vino!
We met our guests on the first day in Piazza Signorelli for a welcoming lunch in the Tuscan sunshine and a photo walk through the winding roads of the hill top town of Cortona. In the early evening we surprised our guests with a sunset photography session at a private villa at the top of the town, providing 180 degree views of the valley and sunset. For dinner, we dined al fresco, eating a three course meal looking over the main square in Cortona.
Our landscape day was full of cypress trees, winding roads creating lovely leading lines and sunset at an amazing vineyard with 360 degree views of the Tuscan landscapes. We finished the day with a wine tasting and dinner al fresco surrounded by umbrella cypress trees and fairy lights.
Ancient Hill Top Towns – Photography Holiday in Tuscany
We started our our street photography day with a surprise for our guests, a visit to the famous Pasticceria Vannelli for pastries, coffees and a surprise latte art lesson with award winning Pietro Vannelli. We photographed the hustle and bustle in the pasticceria whilst enjoying a coffee and pastry! We then enjoyed learning how to make latte art and photographing the lesson as it unfolded. Lots of lovely light, smiles and of course coffee during the lesson.
We then headed north to Arezzo! Arezzo is one of our favourite cities to photograph, and on our street photography day we photographed the famous antique market and the hustle and bustle around it. There were two weddings at local churches, which provided lovely moments for all the photographers to capture too!
One of the highlights of this photography holiday in Tuscany was the Rigatoni Polenta Sagra, where all our photographers were welcomed with open arms into the local festa. We photographed the cooks in the kitchen cooking the polenta and meat, along with all the locals and their families enjoying the festivities together.
This photography holiday in Tuscany finished on a high with a super colourful sunrise over the Tuscan and Umbrian hills, creating lovely cypress silhouettes against the sky and capturing the mist as it settled on lago Trasimeno.
We are SO looking forward to running another trip next year in 2024 – click here for more info and we hope you can join us!
