I photographed this lovely family together last fall in the beautiful orange light whilst on a fantastic walk on Leith Hill. We timed the shoot perfectly with the sun setting and lighting up their faces and the fiery fall leaves in the background. We started the shoot with a family shot on the gate, which works well for everyone as the kids get to climb up it and the adults can lean comfortably. We went on a walk around Leith Hill, and I was able to capture the children at ease playing in the woods and running along the path. It’s great to photograph children as they play, such as climbing up a tree or hiking through the heather as their natural look is captured. The fall colours really complemented all the shots, giving the rich autumnal hues to the backdrop. It’s great to use nature as a prop and I love the shots of the entire family throwing the leaves into the air, their timing was brilliant!
